Detailed Description:
The ETS 1g 7” x 3.5” Street /strip kit is designed for exclusively for street driven cars.that see
regular track use. This unit is designed to give the highest performance possible while still retaining
the factory crash beam and allowing good ambient airflow to the radiator. This unit features a 27” x 7 “ x 3.5 in core, and at 27” long , this is the largest core that can be nicely fitted to the 1G DSM before
cutting is involved. As this is such a long core, the charge air will stay in the intercooler for a greater
period of time, which vastly improves efficiency. On this kit you can expect the charge air temps at
the intake manifold to drop from over 200deg F (stock IC) to about 115- 125 deg F on warm days.
This cool air eliminates knock in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears and allows the boost on the DSM to be
turned up as high as 23psi on pump gas and as high as you dare on race gas. Without the front
mount , the computer on the DSM will retard ignition timing when it picks up knock, if you are running
a side mount intercooler, and your car seems to go “Flat” in the upper rpm range or in 3rd, 4th, or 5th
gears it is likely detonating (knocking). This knocking will quickly destroy the engine, as well as hinder
performance. This Kit will eliminate knock on a properly tuned vehicle.
The quality of this kit is unsurpassed, all of the piping is mandrel bent, beaded, and powdercoated.
The silicone couplers have four layers of re-enforcement, and the T-Bolt clamps will never
come off (even at 35 psi) if properly tightened. As with all short route kits, this kit will require enlarging
the “D” shaped holes on each side of the radiator. Full pictorial instructions are included in this
kit. Installation time is 3-5 hrs.
