Detailed Description:
The ETS 1G 10” Race kit is designed for serious race vehicle that see heavy track usage. This
kit features a very large 25” x 10.5” x 3” Bar and Plate intercooler core that is intended to cool large
amounts of air, at high boost levels. As this unit flows 1200cfm, it can handle turbos with compressor
sections as large as a T-66 with ease. This unit will give you the coldest charge air temperatures
possible, and even though it is quite large, it still fits the vehicle nicely. Expect to see charge air
temps of 100—120 deg F at the end of a full quarter mile pass.
If you plan on using this unit on a car with a smaller turbo, it will actually work quite well. With
a stock 14b you will see more lag due to the internal volume of this unit, and the small flow rate of
the turbo. For cars with 16g style turbos, there is .21sec more turbo lag than a stock side mount or a
street front mount. Please remember that this is only on initial spool up, and as long as you are a
quick shifter, it will not affect boost between gears. The bottom line is that if you have Huge power
goals for your vehicle, and you do not want to buy an intercooler twice, this is an option to consider.
The quality of this kit is unsurpassed, all of the piping is mandrel bent, beaded, and powder
coated. The silicone couplers have 3 layers of re-enforcement, and the T-Bolt Clamps will never come
off (even at 35 psi) if properly tightened. As with all short route kits, this kit will require enlarging the“D” shaped holes on each side of the radiator, and the power-steering cooler will be removed. Installation
is approx. 6hrs, and full instructions are included. This kit will require cutting of the bumper
support.
