Detailed Description: 1G Mitsubishi Eclipse 7" Street Intercooler KitThe ETS 1G Mitsubishi Eclipse 7" Street Intercooler Kit is designed exclusively for street driven cars. This unit is designed to give the highest performance possible while still retaining the factory crash beam and allowing good ambient airflow to the radiator. The core size of 25” (33” overall) fills the whole grill with core for a killer look and ultimate performance. Because of the lenth and efficiency of the core, the air temps at the intake manifold will drop from over 200deg (stock IC) to about 115-130deg on warm days. This cool air eliminates knock in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears and allows the boost on the DSM to be turned up as high as 22psi on pump gas and 26psi on race gas. Without the front mount, the computer on the DSM will retard ignition timing when it picks up knock, if your car seems to go “Flat” in the upper rpm range or in 3rd, 4th, or 5th gears it is likely detonating (knocking ). This Kit will eliminate knock on a properly tuned vehicle. The quality of this kit is unsurpassed, all of the piping is mandrel bent , beaded, and powdercoated. The silicone couplers have 3 layers of re-enforcement , and the T-Bolt Camps will never come off (even at 35 psi) if properly tightened down. As with all short route kits, this kit will require enlarging the “D” shaped holes on each side of the radiator, and the powersteering cooler will need to be removed, (In over 500 kits sold, we have never had a power steering issue). Installation is approx. 3- 5hrs, and full instructions are included. |
